It is both an honour and a responsibility to serve as the Vice-Chancellor of Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, a prior institution that has played a pivotal role in strengthening agricultural education, research, and extension in the arid and semi-arid regions of India.
Located in one of the most challenging agro-climatic zones of the country, SKRAU has a unique mandate—to develop region-specific solutions for sustainable agriculture, livestock development, natural resource management, and rural livelihoods. Our University stands committed to advancing science that is not only academically sound but also socially relevant and farmer-centric.
In a rapidly changing agricultural landscape marked by climate variability, resource constraints, and evolving market dynamics, our focus remains on excellence in teaching, problem-oriented research, and effective extension. We aim to nurture competent professionals, innovative researchers, and responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to national development.
Faculty and students are the cornerstone of this institution. We will continue to promote academic freedom, ethical research practices, interdisciplinary collaboration, and capacity building, while strengthening partnerships with farmers, ICAR institutions, industry, and policymakers.
As we move forward, Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, will strive to emerge as a center of excellence for arid-zone agriculture and climate-resilient farming systems, grounded in tradition yet driven by innovation.
