Training programmes and Front line Demonstrations organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendras during 2022-23

Training Programmes

One of the mandates of Krishi Vigyan Kendras is to organize training programmes for practicing farmers, farm-women, rural youth and extension functionaries throughout the year. These trainings are conducted on the institution as well as in the villages, as per convenience of the target group and the nature of the training programme. The duration of programme may vary from one day to six months depending upon the complexity of the subject matter and need of the target group. During the year 2022-23 total 373 training progammes were organized by KVKs with the participation of 9921 participants. Out of these trainings, 7 trainings were organized for field functionaries, 6 for rural youth &benefitted 410rural youth and extension personnel.

(A) Training courses for field functionaries

The KVKs have been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting training of grass root level field functionaries like agricultural supervisors (VLWs), anganwadi workers and secretaries of Gram SevaSahkari Samiti etc. working in government and non-government organizations. These training programmes were arranged in collaboration with the concerned line departments. In the year 2022-23, total 7 training programmes were organized by KVKs with the participation of 350 field functionaries.

(B)Training coursesconducted for farmers & farm women

As an important task of the KVK is to organize institutional vocational training courses for practicing farmers and farm women to acquire required skills in basic trades of farming. The different centers organized training courses depending upon need of the area, availability of infrastructure facility and technical staff at the center. The details are as under:
