Agribusiness Management Education is now a priority area in the country as several State Agricultural Universities and Agricultural Institutes have added MBA (Agri Business) and equivalent programmes to their educational systems over the past one decade in order to meet the demand of skilled agribusiness managers.
Established with the financial assistance from the World Bank in 2000 AD, as a constituent unit of SKRAU, the Institute of Agri Business Management visualizes solution oriented and agro industry need based management education, training, research and policy related activities to give an impetus to the development of agro based industry, in particular, and rural development, in general. The institute is today recognized as an exclusive sectoral business school with a mission to provide professionally competent managers to shoulder responsibilities in the leading corporate/noncorporate organizations under agribusiness and allied sectors.
To help agriculture and industrial sectors and to develop core competence by bringing out professional managers, equipped with modern management theories, practices, appropriate behavioural values, skills with aptitude and sensitivity for agricultural and rural development.
To impart education to young men/women for taking up the responsibilities for managing any form of organization & other agro based income generating & development activities.
To offer training programmes for business professionals, policy makers and entrepreneurs for improving decision making skills and administrative competence.
To undertake research projects on client specific problems and on general problems facing an industry segment.
To create knowledge through researches relevant to management discipline and to disseminate such knowledge through publications.

MBA (Agri Business) Programme
The Master of Business Administration (Agri Business) is a two-year full time residential post-graduate degree programme which grooms young men and women into professional managers for core areas of agribusiness and allied sectors. Doctor of Philosophy (Agri Business) Programme
Role of MBA (AB) has been realized long back and number of institutes started offering such programme. This has created a big demand of qualified manpower in Agri Business education. Post Graduate Diploma in Agri Input Management (PGDAIM)
The PGDAIM is a one year programme depicting industry-institute interface directed towards the growth of the agribusiness sector and at the same time addresses the employment problem in relation to the agricultural graduates. The Institute has its own state of art infrastructure with an aesthetically structured building providing perfect B-School standard.
Class Rooms - Classrooms are specially designed to ensure participative learning environment. Internet facility through Wi-Fi system and latest audio-visual aids are available in the classrooms which provide a high standard of teaching.
Computer Facility - The institute has highly sophisticated WiFi enabled computer lab to provide 24 hour fourth generation computing technology to the students. It gives a wealth of information via connectivity of 2 Mbps to the entire campus including the hostel blocks. The Computer Laboratory is equipped with 30 Desktop PCs along with scanners and printers.
Library - The WiFi enabled IABM library has very rich collections of books, journals, periodicals and reports to fulfill the research and teaching needs of the academic community. IABM Library is subscribing 60 journals and periodicals, 17 magazines and 8 news papers. Along with this, library has 4552 books on diversified subjects and also subscribing online statistical database indiastat.com, full text database EBSCO and CMIE.
Conference & Seminar Facility - As a nationally reputed Agribusiness management institute we are having State of art infrastructure to develop overall presentation, communication & interpersonal skills. Seminar hall & conference rooms are equipped with WiFi connectivity, audiovisual aids, controlled environment and other facilities as per global standards.
Hostel Accommodation - The Institute has adequate hostel facility, having two hostels with single seated rooms for boys. Television, telephone, internet facility and indoor games are available in each hostel. Quality food is provided to the students through the Cooperative Mess, managed by the students themselves. Girls are accommodated in the PG Hostel of the College of Home Science, which is close to the Institute. All hostels have Wi-Fi internet facility.
The Institute’s Placement Cell makes every effort to assist all the students passing out to get suitable placements in wide range of organizations primarily in the corporate sector. The institute has been able to attain 100 per cent placement for its students in leading corporate and non corporate organizations in recent years.
